This
is a 6 credit package with work
experience in a childcare or
junior school setting for 2
quadmesters.
The
students work full days in a
daycare where they are exposed
to children of different age
groups. |

The
childcare assistant co-operative education
course is an 18 week course. For the first
three weeks, students attend in-school classes
to prepare for their work placement. After
preparation is completed students go to
their assigned workplace each day keeping
the regular work hours of their place of
business.
Develop
the skills to be an effective caregiver
with the added bonus of becoming a more
effective parent.
The
Childcare Assistant Course
Combines
time in school and time off site working
Gives experience through a work placement
working with young children
Teaches about workplace protocol and childcare
system
Teaches successful job search techniques
Teaches critical employability skills
Evaluates strengths, attitudes, beliefs
and habits, in order to optimize potential
Develops life skills such as managing
stress, good decision making techniques
